A two-part exhibition at NFWS/SVILOVA and 3e Våningen, Gothenburg.
2001 takes its point of departure from the events at the EU summit in Gothenburg, 20 years ago. The three days in June was a pivotal moment in Swedish history. The Swedish police state showed its true face. The riots became a symbol of the engagement to reclaim the streets from the centralization of economic power, in the radical left and the anti-globalization movement, which now is only a memory.
Commissioned texts by Emma Hatt and Samuel Richter accompany the exhibition, together with an excerpt from Göteborgshändelserna by Jörgen Gassilewski.
